'Thousands' of people are believed to have turned out for the Paisley Food and Drink Festival at the weekend.

The festival, which took place between April 26 and 27, saw more than 35 traders offering the finest street food, artisan makers and licensed bars, live entertainment, and kids workshops.

Festival goers were able to enjoy food and drink from some of Renfrewshire’s most popular spots including Café Fairfull, Dark God Rum and Paisley Drinks Company. 

While Paisley-based Two Towns Down Brewing were offering a special IPA at the event, Mango No 5, brewed especially for the festival.

The event also saw the return of Scozzese woodfired pizza, Brigston & Co. artisan hotdogs, Lemon Squeezy, and Free the Chilli, which have been favourites in recent years of the festival.

Food and drink aside, kids were able to take part in a range of free activities from pizza making workshops and free face painting to inflatables and balloon modelling. 

Also, this year’s kids programme included, for the first time, an outdoor chicken and cowboy show, The Good, The Bad and The Poultry, delivered by Adrenalisim Theatre

There was also a great selection of live musical entertainment including performances from RockUs Community Choir, Crawford Smith, Shaun Moore, and Fèis Phàislig.
