Allan McGregor 7
Impressive save to deny Christie from the spot but left wrong-footed by Edouard’s goal. One impressive second-half save to deny Bolingoli.

James Tavernier 7
Some excellent interventions as Celtic tried to cut in and controlled that right flank. Worked his socks off.

Connor Goldson 7
Another one who could walk away on the back of a strong performance. Was impressive at nullifying the threat of Edouard and coped with everything that Celtic had to throw at Rangers as they chased a leveller.

Nicola Katic 8
Booked as he conceded a penalty with a tug on Jullien’s shirt but enjoyed his goal after rising to convert Barisic’s disputed corner and restore Rangers’ lead.  Another who could boast an excellent afternoon.

Borna Barisic 8
Impressive. Was allowed ample time and space by Celtic to steer the ball into the path of Kent for the opening goal of the game. Dangerous deliveries from corners and impressive throughout. Booked for a foul on Frimpong.

Steve Davis 7
Twice headed Jullien efforts off the line, one in each half, and showed all his experience in a commanding shift in the middle of the park.

Ryan Jack 6
Uncharacteristically conceded possession and performance did not have the same poise and elegance that it did at Hampden earlier this month.

Glen Kamara 7
Booked for second-half foul on Frimpong. Replaced by Arfield late on but was instrumental in helping Rangers control the middle of the park.

Joe Aribo 7
Hit one effort well wide to scorn the chance for Rangers to net a third in the second period and put the game out of sight.  Overall a mature performance as the Ibrox side claimed the win.

Ryan Kent 7
Put Rangers in front when he collected from Barisic and netted with a left-foot effort and pay back a chunk of his £7m transfer fee.

Alfredo Morelos 6
Afternoon ended in acrimony with a late dismissal that sparked a melee between both benches. But over the course of the afternoon he menaced Celtic’s backline. Movement caused Jullien and Ajer all sorts of problems and repeatedly got Rangers up the pitch.  One second-half effort well over the bar that he ought to have done better with.

Subs

Scott Arfield 5
Took over from Katic in the latter stages as Rangers kept control of the game.

George Edmundson 3
Replaced Davis in the final frantic minutes.
