STEVEN DAVIS is confident Rangers will be ready to pick up where they left off after the winter break as they set their sights on the Premiership title.

Steven Gerrard's side moved to within two points of Celtic – having played a game fewer than their Old Firm rivals – with a deserved victory at Parkhead on Sunday.

Ryan Kent and Nikola Katic were the heroes for the Light Blues as they netted either side of a controversial goal from Odsonne Edouard just before the break.

Davis said: "It wasn't the best time to concede a goal so it was important we bounced back from it.

"We were excellent in the second half and limited them to very few chances.

"There were a few set-piece chances but it was a big three points for us.

"Now it's important to come back fresh after the winter break and be ready to go again.

"This is a massive result for us but we have to show the same consistency in the second half of the season.

"The cup final performance gave us a lot of belief and we now to build on this. It's looking like an exciting second half to the season."

Rangers were worthy winners as they turned in another impressive performance and it was left-back Borna Barisic that took home the man of the match champagne.

The Croatian provided the cross for Kent to open the scoring with a lovely finish before Katic headed home a corner to clinch a thoroughly merited three points for the Gers.

Barisic said: "It was a great performance. We played some very good football and we absolutely deserved it.

"I was satisfied with the two assists but the most important thing was for the team to win.

"Of course, what happened in the cup final made this game even more important.”
