With a buffet dining experience in a dedicated lounge, unlimited snacks and drinks and luxury recliner seats, Glasgow was one of a few Cineworld chains in the UK to offer the VIP service.

Now according to Cineworld's website, only cinemas in Cheltenham, Sheffield and London The O2 Greenwich have the VIP experience.

We previously reported that Cineworld had fallen into administration last June, and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US in 2022 due to giant debts and low footfall.

A Cineworld spokesperson said: “To meet customer demand for more affordable luxury cinema experiences, we are turning these screens into a recliner offering with a small uplift added onto the regular 2D ticket price. We are looking forward to announcing more details on this offering very soon.”
