An iconic Motown group has pulled out of a gig in Glasgow later this year.

We previously reported that The Four Tops, The Temptations, and Tavares would host a show at the city's SEC Armadillo on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

However, My Girl crooners The Temptations are no longer appearing in the legendary line-up.

But instead, fellow Motown heroes Martha Reeves and the Vandellas will stand in.

Glasgow Times:

The group is known for their hits such as Dancing In The Street, Nowhere to Run an Heatwave.

They said: “It’s always so exciting to perform for our British fans, we can’t wait to be dancing in the street in the UK this September!”

The Four Tops and Tavares are still joining the star-studded selection of acts at the run of gigs.

The I'll Be There hitmakers said: "We need your loving UK, we can’t wait to return to your shores this September with our brothers and sisters in soul Martha Reeves & the Vandellas and Tavares, so get ready for us!"

The Four Tops came from the seminal label Motown and are the most commercially successful American pop music groups of all time, having sold millions of albums and influenced generations of artists and music fans.

Tavares are the Tavares brothers - a hugely successful American R&B/soul group, now touring as a quartet comprising the original founding members Antone ‘Chubby’ Tavares, Perry ‘Tiny’ Tavares, Feliciano ‘Butch’ Tavares and Arthur ‘Pooch’ Tavares.

They are most loved for their international smash hit Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel among many others.
