A 'massive police presence' was spotted near a park in Glasgow.

Locals reported on social media seeing 999 crews near Hogganfield Park in the East End on Wednesday evening.

Officers say they were called to a report of concern for a 39-year-old man who had left his home in the Cranhill area of the city.

Following that, cops then searched the Cumbernauld Road area and later tracked him down.

He was then taken to hospital.

Locals reported there was a "massive police presence" in the area during the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 5.15pm on Wednesday, January 3, police were called to a report of concern for a 39-year-old man who had left his home in Cranhill, Glasgow.

“Officers carried out enquiries in and around the Cumbernauld Road area and he was later traced and taken to hospital for assessment.”
