No water in Glasgow: Chaos across city as thousands hit out on Twitter

Thousands of people in a large area of the city took to Twitter to out at Scottish Water as they were forced to start their day with no H2O.

One Twitter user, who said he’s due to be married today, expressed concern at the lack of water for his guests, as well as himself.

Other people hit out at the situation also.

It seems Glasgow has a water issue this morning which would have been great to know before my shower met me with icy contempt, only to run out mid-shampoo.

Scottish Water said the outage affected the postcode areas of G12, G20, G23, G41, G42, G43 ,G44, G61 and G62.

The corporation added: “We’ve located a fault on part of our water network which is causing an interruption to supplies affecting a wide area of Glasgow this morning.

“Our team are on site working to fix the fault and restore supplies as quickly as possible.

“Please check our site for further updates.

“Apologies for the disruption today.”
