The popular Glasgow club night Jellybaby which took place every Thursday at the O2 ABC is set to relaunch at a new venue following the School of Art fire which previously destroyed its former home.

Following the fire, the popular student night was forced to be cancelled along with Propaganda which took place at the weekend.

But the promoters have announced this week that the club night will be back and as good as ever but now taking place at The Classic Grand on Jamaica Street under the new name Babyjelly.

In a Facebook post the organisers wrote: "Once upon a time there was a massive Fire at ABC. We lost a massive venue we all loved dearly. JELLYBABY lost her home.

"What was she to do?! Lost and Low, she gathered anything she could from the remains of the fire and went on the search for a new home.

"Everywhere she went, she was turned away, or upset that nothing quite matched her beloved ABC.

"Until one night she stumbled upon The Classic Grand, everything seemed familiar, the 'theatre-style', the High ceilings, the Stage. It was like she had found a smaller version of her dear ABC.

"'BABYjelly' was born."

Glasgow Times:

The new night will feature all the same promotions as its predecessor but in a slightly smaller location.

Popular among students and those looking for a cheap night out, the event offers £1 drinks and shots.

Lovers of the fun-filled night can head along to the revised version on Thursday September 20 to inspect the new venue and find out if Babyjelly is just as good as the original.
