A REVOLUTIONARY new restaurant app is set to launch in Glasgow this week - and it’ll change the way you eat out.

From Friday, May 11, Time2Dine will allow Glasgow diners to book, choose and pay for their food before even stepping foot inside the restaurant.

Created in the city by a family-owned business, the app will launch with three restaurants: Amore on Ingram Street, Cafe India on Albion Street and La Vita on Kirkintilloch Road in Bishopbriggs.

Elia Greek Restaurant at George Square and Steak & Cherry and Non Viet - both on Sauchiehall Street - will also be joining up soon.

All diners will receive a 10% discount from 6pm Friday until 8pm Sunday.

Carolyn Mandache, CEO of Time2Dine, described how the team has been workig on the project for two years.

She said: “We’re delighted to see it come to life. I know our participating restaurants can’t wait to welcome the first wave of diners this weekend. In addition, we have lots of other restaurants that will be available via the website soon.”

Time2Dine offers not only booking and payment online for diners, but a hardware point of sale system for restaurants.

This will help restaurants run smoother, allowing them to tailor offers to suit customer preferences.

So, instead of diners spending up to an hour waiting to order and pay the bill, they will be able to enjoy their meal and spend that wasted time doing something else.

Romano Perella, general manager of Amore, added: “With so many different apps and services on the market, it’s refreshing that Time2Dine is an entirely different concept that will help not only the customers, but also help us us cut down on waste and give us information on what our customers want.

“The features of this system are head and shoulders above every other. The rollout has been so smooth and we’re looking forward to receiving our first bookings.”

Bookings can be made on the Time2Dine website time2dine.co.uk and there’s a beta version of the app available on for iPhone and Android.
