A woman needed medical treatment after a house fire in Glasgow.

Firefighters were called to a Southside home after it went up in flames.

Crews attended and put out the fire, which was in the kitchen of a two-storey house.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 2.29pm on Monday, April 15 to reports of a dwelling fire at Croftside Avenue, Glasgow.

"Operations Control immediately mobilised four appliances and firefighters extinguished a well-developed fire affecting the kitchen of a two-storey property.

"One female casualty was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left the scene at 5.37pm after ensuring the area was made safe.

“Crews revisited the property again at 8pm ensuring there were no hotspots or flare-ups."
