North Lanarkshire Council has received a request to approve the conversion of an office in Airdrie to a yoga studio.
Hut Yoga has submitted a planning application for an upper-floor office in the town centre’s Bank Street, saying it intends to offer yoga, sound healing, massage and meditation.
The applicant also claims that the centre could operate without any inconvenience to neighbouring businesses and would be less noisy than the previous office environment would have been.
In the application, they emphasise the ample parking and good public transport links available at the location, which would allow customers to easily access their services.
Neighbouring premises, including a Wetherspoons pub and branches of Boots and Betfred, have been notified of the application.
The council has acknowledged the application, saying it expects to have made its decision by November 26.
At the time of writing no public comments had been made about this application, which can be viewed on North Lanarkshire Council’s website using the reference number 23/00938/FUL.
