A STILL Game star has hit out after a group of Glasgow 'penguins' have went missing.

Gavin Mitchell, who played the iconic Boaby the Barman on the hit show, has taken to Twitter after a bunch of the 'Kelvin Way penguins in the wall' figurines have disappeared.

The figures are usually spotted scaling rocks or picking up litter on an old wall on the Kelvin Walkway.

However, some of the popular figurines have now disappeared.

Taking to Twitter to announce the 'sad news', The Penguins in the Wall page wrote: "I have some sad news. We woke up this morning to find our little community had disappeared in the night.

"We do not know where anyone else is, or even if they'll ever come back, but we will not stop searching every inch of our wall until we find them."

Responding to the Tweet, Gavin wrote: "This is really sad, they were magical, cheered everyone up and were for all to share!

"C’mon return the penguins!"

The post has sparked upset in many Glaswegians, who have also taken to commenting on the post.

One wrote: "My heart is broken reading this."

While another added: "Oh no! Why would anyone do that?!"

Some of the penguins who were out 'litter-picking', avoided being 'taken', but there is still no news on the others.

The page returned to Twitter saying: "Last night my mum finally made it home, but no one else in the community.

"Those of us who are left will not be frightened away by these events and we'll be back out in the wall enjoying ourselves today."
